The new Code has taken shape!

Zurich, March 03rd, 2005: After four days of meeting, both Men's and Women's Technical Committees have reached a decisive step in the formulation of the new Code of Points for Artistic Gymnastics. Although it has not yet been finalized, we can already see the outcome.Both committees, chaired by Adrian Stoica (ROM) and Nellie Kim (BLR) have defined the judging principles based on two panels of judges (A and B), whose duties can be summarized as follows.
The Code for everyone!
Jury A, made up of 2 judges, actually gives the real value of the routine. A gymnast starts with a zero. He or she will perform successive elements and the Jury will only retain the ten best, those that "pay" the most!. These difficulties receive, according to their level, a certain "price".

Jury A adds the value of these 10 elements, and moreover will award a "credit" for each group of elements, also taking into account the connections that are applied only to specific apparatus. This total becomes score A.
